Imagine…

Elegance. Tradition. Space. Light. Warmth.

On a hilltop in East Kew, where Kilby and Belford Roads meet, 3 very generous family homes are taking shape. Designed to compliment the streetscape, these traditionally styled, individual homes, all with their own address and street front, offer everything a family could desire.

At 42 to 46 SQ, each home includes;

  • 4 generous bedrooms

  • 2 living zones

  • 3 bathrooms and 2 powder rooms

  • Study (complete with bespoke joinery)

  • Fully equipped cinema

  • Lift

  • Gym

  • Cellar

  • Private deck with optional plunge pool

  • Double garage with storage and workbench

Inspiration for the exterior of the homes came from the neighbouring properties. Renowned Melbourne Architect, David Liddiard, repeated the pitched roofs and wainscoting seen nearby and retained the original stone fence.

This sense of tradition continues inside. On the ground floor, parquetry floors and 3-meter ceilings are edged with classical architraves, cornices and skirting boards. White linen and steel pendants illuminate French doors that lead to the east-facing kitchen, dining and living zones.

“This is a high-end development of unique, luxurious homes, featuring expansive spaces, immaculate detailing, custom-designed joinery and premium finishes throughout.”

The kitchens are anchored by enormous island benches, topped with 100 mm deep Caesarstone slabs. The pallet is restrained – slate blue, white and bronze. Australian made tapware from Astra Walker, Miele appliances, including two ovens and induction cooktops, plus walk-in butlers’ pantries will delight the most fastidious cooks.

Slim shaker joinery and tiled backsplashes, inspired by pressed metal, continue the blend of classic and contemporary.

The kitchens flow into the dining and living spaces.

“To me the kitchen/dining/living zone is the center of family life and the most important area in the home. I wanted it to be a zone for all seasons – cosy in winter and a breezy indoor/outdoor zone for summer. With the plunge pool on the deck and the big gas fire inside I think we’ve achieved that.”

Only a wall of windows separates the gas log fires and the optional pools. Merbau decks are surrounded by lush, almost tropical gardens and 2.4 meter fences to ensure complete alfresco privacy. With overhead pergolas and extended kitchen benches for serving and sipping, the back decks will make perfect summer playgrounds for all ages.

And when it is time for a break, retreat to the master suites.

At 40 square meters, the master suites are more than generous. Anchored by expansive bay windows, with seating and storage, these master bedrooms also feature understated wainscoting, walk-in robes and pure wool carpet.

Double walk-in robes and ensuites complete the master suites.

The slate blue joinery, 100 mm Caesarstone and knurled bronze hardware used in the kitchens are again seen in the ensuites. Ribbed glass shower screens hide double showers, so two can share. But, two eye-level cabinets, under bench storage and two sinks, ensures sharing is not compulsory. The ensuite floors appear to match the wooden parquetry floors but are fully tiled, as are all walls.

Still away from the family zones, to the right of the front doors, are the studies (or if you prefer, a formal lounge). Designed to be private sanctuaries, these expansive rooms are entered via French doors and are flooded with natural light. Walls of purpose-built antique black joinery await their owners’ books and files.

Take the lifts downstairs and the ambience changes slightly. Walls in the cellars and cinemas are a darker shade, tiles are subtly different and more antique black joinery contributes to the mood.

The cellars include ample wine storage, a 50-bottle wine fridge, glass racks and a small sink. Across the lobby are the fully equipped cinemas including premium audio-visual equipment. Just connect your streaming service and settle in.

And if the indulgence becomes too much, wander over to the gyms for a workout or head into the double (or triple) garages where the workbenches await.

Upstairs, via the grand wooden staircases or understated lifts, the mood brightens. Light, white walls, high raked ceilings and fully carpeted floors introduce a zone for the younger generation. Of the three enormous 1st floor bedrooms in each home, one has its own walk-in robe and private ensuite, while the other two have built-in robes and study desks.

These two bedrooms share a bathroom with a freestanding bath and separate shower, all tiled, like the ensuite, in white and duck egg blue.

All three bedrooms share the 17 sqm retreats, which include built-in joinery for the entertainment system and pitched 3.1meter ceilings.

And of course…

Belford Court will include all the extras expected by discerning homeowners.
